June 17, 2009 - Vol. 8, No. 14:
WOMEN HEALING THE EARTH
Women, in these times, have a very unique opportunity to step into a very vital role that helps to heal the Earth, spiritually and energetically. This is one of the overarching missions for those of us who have incarnated now (and if you're reading this, that means you!).
Each of us, whether male or female, can trace our lineage back to our own Indigenous Wisdom tradition -- traditions that reflected a greater Wholeness, an awareness of our connectedness to all things, and to a reverence of the Life Force, of the Feminine, of Earth and all living things.
For some of us, we must journey back a bit farther to connect to that Indigenous, ancestral lineage, through our own 'spiritual genealogy' to the taproot, to a time before that connection to lineage, Wisdom, the Feminine, and connection to Source or Spirit was severed.
We all feel that separation, and many women are now feeling the call, in whatever way it finds voice, to track back to the lineage and the wisdom it makes available to us, and also to repair the severed connection and resurrect it, embody it, and give it expression once more in the world.
As the Dagara Teacher, Sobonfu Some, says, we must 'rattle the bones' of the long lineage of wild, wise women, to awaken the connection that has been dormant, and to let the wild, wise woman, the essence, power and wisdom of the Feminine, guide us into a great awakening.
This doesn't mean rotely resurrecting old forms of worship, though we may find meaning and power in some of the ancient rituals themselves. No, this is a remembering and reinterpreting -- allowing the wisdom to speak through us anew, in ways that are appropriate to our times.
Nor does this mean that men don't have a role in the re-emergence of the Feminine, which is required for the Great Healing and the Great Work that is to be done (and is unfolding as we speak). Men do have a role; after all, severed connections to Wholeness, through an exiling of the Feminine, have affected all life, including all genders. The Great Work requires the participation of all of us.
That said, women do have a unique role in this remembering, of re-establishing the great Feminine Wisdom by embodying and expressing it as women, and being conduits for this consciousness on Earth, and for Earth.
This much has been said by Some, as well as by spiritual teachers like Llewelyn Vaughn-Lee, Mahatma Gandhi, Desmond Tutu, and many others. (Find a link to Llewelyn Vaughn-Lee's talk on this topic below).
In hearing the call, we must find our way to the practices, the rituals, and the teachings that reconnect us to the voices and wisdom of our ancestral Feminine, and allow us to tap into the deep, clear well of the Feminine as it is sourced through all traditions and throughout all times.
The Deep Feminine sources true, heart-centered and Life-affirming vision, intuition, imagination, Wholeness, and awareness of abundance -- and 'enough' --among other facets of being, that inform and guide us to authentic expression and wise action.
This 'great work' of reclaiming our own Feminine, our own lineage of what Sobonfu Some and others call the wise, wild woman, can then find expression through us to family, community, and workplace. It, through us, thus offers a healing, harmonizing energy and wisdom that guides right action that comes from an awareness of Wholeness, and thus affects all living things positively.
No longer can we remain separated from this well of wisdom, from our ancestral lineage; nor can we remain stuck in anger and grief over the loss, but rather find our way to acknowledging and then transmuting that energy and wisdom for the benefit of all. This is 'being the change we wish to see', and the microcosm both reflecting and affecting the macrocosm.
Each woman has her own unique way of giving voice to that wisdom, to the reclaimed Feminine, but all of us share the role of restoring the broken legacy, and bringing the Feminine out of exile in very real ways.
May we say 'yes' to that calling, may we find the space to do this sacred work protected and supported. May it be so.

THE 'NEW CREATIVITY' AND THE FEMININE ARCHETYPE
Since 'creativity' and the Feminine Archetype are such integral elements of the growing 'cultural creatives' trend, and in business in general, Jamie Walters, founder of Ivy Sea, sat down in dialogue with Julie Daley, founder of Creative Wellspring, to discuss just what we're talking about when we say 'creativity' and 'Feminine', and why it's so important right now -- both within and beyond the realms of business.
Jamie and Julie also recorded two InspiraLogues on these topics (see the link below!).
