Bright, vibrant and dynamic, the color orange is considered by many color-psychology experts to be the color of bliss, as it represents harmony and independence. The color orange is also thought to be energizing and stimulating, awakening the appetite for adventure, action, or even food.
The color orange is associated with the second chakra, the energetic band around our lower abdomen, which influences the sexual organs, large and small intestines, spleen, gallbladder and bile. It is through this energy center that we connect to other individuals and to community. The second chakra speaks to the process of individuation: who are we and who are we to become, versus who are we expected to be or who are we expected to become. A balanced and healthy second chakra allows us deep insight, highlighting our core values, creativity, and intuition. The more comfortable we become with who we truly are, the more fluid and productively passionate we become in expression.
The challenges or "shadow side" related to orange
The challenges of orange, or the second chakra, are the emotions of guilt and shame, as well as the ability to handle great changes and shifts in our lives. Orange can help to stimulate the process of letting go of deeply instilled habits, negative thoughts, and past behaviors that no longer serve our personal and collective growth and transformation. The more we understand ourselves, the more we release the past and come into the present moment, thus allowing ourselves to be aware of the multitude of opportunity for change and contribution. In addition, the color orange can be helpful in overcoming the deep shock of spiritual, physical, emotional or sexual deceit. As we are able to grow and understand the deeper lesson of shock, we release the shame and guilt related to the experience thus accessing our unique source of creative self-expression.
In Aura-Soma®, a color therapy method consisting of 103 dual-colored Equilibrium bottles, the orange/orange bottle is called the "Shock Bottle / Etheric Rescue / Humpty Dumpty bottle."
The meaning or effects of orange
When a client intuitively chooses the orange/orange bottles, this indicates that the individual is at heart an independent, creative person and is gifted with deep insights. This person is intelligent, cautious, and is capable of experiencing deep joy and sexual fulfillment. The individuals who are drawn to orange are often great adventurers and strategists (whether expressed or "closeted"). Orange is the color of creative self-expression and the energy of activity.
The challenge implied by selecting the orange bottle is that this individual is in the process of recovering from the deep shock of an "emotional storm." When one experiences deep shock, it is said that the etheric body leaves the physical body through the "etheric gap," which resides on the left side of the body near the waistline. The etheric body literally stands next to you, thus the expression, "beside yourself." Vicky Wall, a British Medical Doctor, intuitive healer and creator of Aura-Soma® was gifted with the ability to "see" this phenomena, which inspired her to create the orange/orange Equilibrium bottle. The health-giving colored oils within the Equilibrium bottles are activated when shaken and applied to the physical body. When the orange/orange bottle is activated and applied to the left side of the clients body, the etheric gap is closed, restoring and re-energizing the clients subtle energy bodies and allowing the client to transform the negativity of the experience bringing in a deep sense of inner peace and tranquility.
The bottom line regarding the color orange? Orange is a fabulously supportive color. When you feel lethargic, depressed or stuck reach for the orange fruit, scarf, jacket, pillow or precious stones of agate, amber, coral or topaz. Decorate yourself and your environment with the bold colors of the blissfully unique you.
